SPET kinesiology

Somato-Psycho-Emotional Therapy

The Somato-Psycho-Emotional Therapy (SPET) is an approach that combines kinesiology with a holistic listening to the being. This therapy was developed by Stéphanie Durand at the school Matières en Lumière.

The dimensions of the SPET

  • Somatic: taking into account the body, tensions, physical blockages, and postures.
  • Psycho-emotional: exploration of personal history, memories, psychological and emotional burdens.
  • Energy work: focusing on the flows and subtle dimensions of the person (often related to meridians or traditional Chinese medicine).

Here is how the school describes the SPET training:

"An original healing method that offers psycho-emotional support related to experiences and emotions, inducing a release of tensions in the body. This method, which allows for the observation and support of the body's self-regulation processes, is based on cross-research related to osteopathy, kinesiology, and the person-centered approach. This practice was developed by Stéphanie Durand based on the work and research of Dominique Raynaud."

This therapeutic method is infused with the Person-Centered Approach (PCA), featuring a finely tuned, non-directive, and non-judgmental listening style that is reflected in my consultations based on my current abilities through empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard.
